Birdy is a fictional character, a mutant appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.[1] Her first appearance was in X-Men vol. 2 #6.[2]

Fictional character biography

Birdy became the partner of Sabretooth. She would use her telepathy to help keep him calm.[3] Birdy accompanied Sabretooth while he searched for answers on who was trying to kill him and Mystique.[4] Mystique revealed that she had given birth to a son, Graydon Creed.[5] Later Birdy was stabbed by Graydon.[6] The character was resurrected in 2022.[7]

Powers and abilities

Birdy was a mutant with the power of telepathy. The exact limits of her power were never defined, but she had clearly achieved some level of skill, being capable of the standard feats of a mutant telepath (mind reading and manipulation, mental communication, psi-blasts, etc.). She was also able to use her telepathy to temporarily satiate Sabretooth's psychotic feral impulses (which he referred to as getting "the glow").

Birdy was also highly skilled with advanced weaponry and explosive, capable of taking down massive groups of the Hand.[4]

Video games

  • Birdy appears as an ally to Sabretooth for Capcom's Marvel vs. Capcom series. In one of his special attacks Sabretooth summons her to perform an attack called "Armed Birdy", where she fires a trio of projectiles from her assault rifle, and in the Hyper Combo, "Armed Birdy X", where she fires a barrage of bullets instead of three. She also appears in two of Sabertooth's win poses.
